💛 Community Support Request – Local Family in Need 💛 Our community has always shown up for one another in times of need, and today I am asking for that same compassion for a local family who could truly use some support. This household includes two children, ages 5 and 14, and one elderly woman. The mother has always worked hard, typically maintaining 40 hours per week, but due to recent layoffs her hours have been reduced to just 24 hours per week. She is currently waiting to hear whether partial unemployment will be approved. Unfortunately, the reduction in income has created a hardship. The family currently has an outstanding electric balance of $882. Mother died unexpectedly in August due to health complications. She leaves behind her partner and a seven year old son, diagnosed with significant disabilities. Father works as a janitor and often walks to and from work due to not having a vehicle. While trying to navigate this new chapter of their lives, they have received a notice to quit and must vacate their home as their landlord is selling the home. There is a rental on hold for father and son but we urgently need first month's rent and a security deposit. If the funds cannot be raised, father will lose his child due to the laws regarding homelessness. Father is able to maintain the monthly rental payment of $895 however he lacks the $1790 to solidify his tenancy. Father has lost his partner and son has lost his mother.
