Foster family has a new placement of an infant with medical challenges. They are in need of an FDA approved device that will monitor his sleep and oxygen overnight. The baby chokes and struggles to breathe during the night which is also making it difficult for the parents to sleep. The device is an Owlet Dream Duo 3. The monitor will give live oxygen and heart-rate readings and track sleep. It will alert the parents if the baby's oxygen or pulse goes outside Owlet's preset ranges. The monitor can be found on Amazon @ $354.99. A donation toward the purchase would also be helpful.

Hello, I currently have a 16-year-old foster child who recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. She is in need of some essential baby items, and I am reaching out to see if anyone may be able to help. The family is currently in need of: • Baby soap/wash • Baby lotion/cream • Diapers • Butt paste/diaper rash ointment • A small dresser or storage unit for the baby’s clothing and belongings Her room is fairly small, so if anyone is able to donate a dresser, a smaller-sized dresser or compact storage option would be ideal. If anyone is able to help with any of these items, whether it is donating an item or contributing in any way, the family would greatly appreciate it. Any assistance, big or small, would mean so much to them as they adjust to this new chapter. Thank you so much for considering helping this new mother and her baby!

The Blue House is located in Scranton. It is a 3-bedroom facility and is owned and operated by the county Office of Youth and Family Services. The first floor is used for scheduled, court ordered, family visitations while children are in foster care. The second-floor bedrooms are used for children who have come into care, but a placement has not been found yet. Caseworkers staff the building around the clock for these purposes. The agency is grateful for volunteers to help with several projects to complete the recent renovation work on the house. When responding, please tell us the project you are interested in working on and the dates, after Aug 9th, that you would be available. We will coordinate the details with you.
