Login and Account Issues

NeedBridge is an email-powered need-matching platform that connects people in need with volunteers through nonprofit organizations. This article covers common problems people encounter when trying to log in or access their NeedBridge account, along with steps to resolve each one.

Forgot Your Password

If you cannot remember your password, you can reset it from the login page.

Steps

  1. Go to the NeedBridge login page.
  2. Click the "Forgot Password" link below the password field.
  3. Enter the email address associated with your account.
  4. Check your email for a password reset message. The email contains a link to set a new password.
  5. Click the link and enter your new password.
  6. Log in with your new password.

Tips

  • Check your spam/junk folder if the reset email does not arrive within a few minutes.
  • The reset link is time-limited. If it expires before you use it, request a new one (see below).

Expired Password Reset Link

Password reset links expire after a set period for security. If you click the link and see a message that it has expired, you need to request a fresh one.

Steps

  1. Return to the login page.
  2. Click "Forgot Password" again.
  3. Enter your email address.
  4. Check for the new reset email and use the fresh link promptly.

Email Not Verified

NeedBridge requires email verification before you can fully access your account. If you have not verified your email, you may see a message prompting you to do so.

Steps

  1. Check your email for the original verification message sent when you registered.
  2. Click the verification link in that email.
  3. If you cannot find the email or the link has expired, look for a "Resend Verification" option on the login page or in the message shown when you attempt to log in.
  4. Check your spam/junk folder for the resent verification email.

See Email Verification for more detail.

Invitation Expired

If you were invited to join an organization and the invitation link has expired, you will need a new invitation.

Steps

  1. Contact the admin or coordinator who sent the original invitation.
  2. Ask them to send a new invitation from the admin panel.
  3. When you receive the new invitation email, click the link and complete registration promptly.

Invitation links are time-limited for security, so use them soon after receiving them.

Locked Out of Your Account

If you are unable to log in and none of the above situations apply, your account may be in a state that requires admin intervention.

Possible Causes

  • Too many failed login attempts (if rate limiting is enabled)
  • Account deactivated by an admin
  • Email address changed without your knowledge

Steps

Contact your organization's admin directly. They can:

  • Check your account status
  • Reset your access if needed
  • Confirm the email address on file
  • Reactivate your account if it was deactivated

Account Pending Approval

If you registered as a case worker, your account requires approval before you can access the admin panel. While your registration is pending, you will not be able to log in to the admin area.

Steps

  1. Wait for the approval email. Approval times vary by organization.
  2. If you have been waiting longer than expected, contact the organization directly to check on your registration status.
  3. Once approved, you will receive an email confirmation and can log in.

See Case Worker Registration for more on the approval process.

Logging In With the Wrong Account

If you are associated with multiple organizations or have both a volunteer and case worker account, make sure you are using the correct email address for the account you want to access.

Tips

  • Check which email address you registered with.
  • If you have multiple accounts, each uses a separate email and password.
  • Contact your admin if you are unsure which email is associated with your role.

General Tips

  • Use a supported browser. NeedBridge works best with current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
  • Clear your cache. If the login page behaves unexpectedly, clearing your browser cache or trying an incognito/private window can help.
  • Check your internet connection. Login issues can sometimes be caused by network problems.
