Volunteer Import FAQ
This FAQ covers questions about importing volunteers from a CSV spreadsheet into NeedBridge.
How do I import volunteers from a spreadsheet?
Go to Admin > Volunteers and click Import volunteers (or similar). Download the template CSV to see the required columns (e.g. first name, last name, email). Fill in your data, save the CSV, then choose the file and run the import. The system will validate the file and add volunteers.

What columns does the volunteer import CSV need?
At minimum: firstName, lastName, and email (email must be unique). Optional columns include phone, frequency (immediate|daily|weekly), isSubscribed, active, address fields, and serviceAreas (semicolon-separated area names). Download the template from the Import page to get the exact format and an example.

The import said some rows failed. What do I do?
Check the error message or report the import shows. Common issues: duplicate emails (already in the system), missing required fields, or invalid values (e.g. frequency must be immediate, daily, or weekly). Fix those rows in your CSV and import again, or add those volunteers manually.

Who can import volunteers?
Usually Organization Admins and Executive Admins. If you don't see the Import option on the Volunteers page, your role may not include it--ask an admin.
