Settings Overview
The Settings section of NeedBridge is where you configure your organization's branding, terminology, service areas, categories, integrations, billing, security, and more. This guide provides an overview of each settings section and explains how to navigate them.
Accessing Settings
Click Settings in the left-hand navigation under the Admin section. The settings page displays all available configuration sections.
Who Can Access Settings
Settings are restricted to users with administrative roles:
- Organization Admins -- Full access to all settings.
- Executive Admins -- Full access to all settings.
Case workers and coordinators do not have access to the Settings section. If a coordinator or case worker needs a setting changed, they should contact an admin.
Settings Sections
Here is a brief description of each section you will find in Settings:
Branding and Customization
Upload your logo, set your brand colors, configure your email banner image, and enter your organization's contact information. These settings control how your organization appears in emails, public pages, and the volunteer signup experience.
Language and Terminology
Customize the words and labels used throughout NeedBridge. Change terms like "Need," "Volunteer," "Area," and more to match the language your organization uses. Changes apply everywhere -- admin interface, emails, and public pages.
Service Areas
Create and manage the geographic regions your organization serves. Areas determine which volunteers receive need notifications and which case workers and coordinators are assigned where.
Categories and Tags
Define the types of needs your organization handles (for example, Groceries, Transportation, Housing) and create tags for additional filtering and organization.
API Keys
Generate and manage API keys for integrating NeedBridge with external tools and services. API keys are used for Zapier connections, webhooks, and custom integrations.
Integrations Setup
Configure connections to third-party services like Zapier. Set up webhook URLs and test your integrations.
Billing and Plans
View your current plan tier, track usage against plan limits, upgrade your plan, and manage your payment method and invoices.
Security
Review security settings, access control policies, and best practices for keeping your organization's data safe.
Embed and Widgets
Get embed code for adding NeedBridge volunteer signup forms or need listings to your own website.
Homepage Customization
Configure your organization's public-facing page, including the welcome message, about section, and featured needs.
Tips
- Review settings when you first set up NeedBridge. Walk through each section to configure your organization before inviting team members and volunteers.
- Revisit settings quarterly. As your organization grows, your areas, categories, terminology, and plan may need updates.
- Limit admin access. Only give admin roles to people who need to change settings. This reduces the risk of accidental configuration changes.
