Branding and Customization

NeedBridge lets you customize the visual identity of your organization so that emails, public pages, and the volunteer experience all look and feel like they come from you -- not from a generic platform. This guide covers logo, colors, email banners, contact information, and previewing your changes.

Accessing Branding Settings

Navigate to Settings in the left-hand navigation, then select Branding (or Branding and Customization).

Uploading Your Logo

Your logo appears on your organization's public volunteer signup page, in email notifications, and on your public-facing homepage.

To upload or change your logo:

  1. Click the logo upload area in the branding settings.
  2. Select an image file from your computer. Supported formats include PNG, JPG, and SVG.
  3. Save your changes.

For best results, use a logo with a transparent background. Square or horizontal logos tend to work well across different placements.

Choosing Colors

You can set three brand colors that NeedBridge uses throughout emails and public pages:

  • Primary color -- Used for buttons, links, and primary actions. This should be your organization's main brand color.
  • Secondary color -- Used for secondary elements, accents, and hover states.
  • Accent color -- Used sparingly for highlights, badges, or callout elements.

Enter colors as hex values (for example, #2563EB) or use the color picker to select them visually. After saving, the colors apply to all outgoing emails and public pages.

Email Banner Image

The email banner image appears at the top of email notifications sent to volunteers. It is a good place for a branded header that includes your logo, tagline, or a community photo.

To set an email banner:

  1. Click the email banner upload area.
  2. Select a wide, horizontal image. Recommended dimensions are approximately 600 pixels wide.
  3. Save your changes.

The banner image appears in welcome emails, need notifications, digest emails, and other communications sent by NeedBridge on behalf of your organization.

How Branding Appears

Your branding settings affect the following:

  • Emails -- Volunteer notification emails use your logo, colors, and email banner image. Buttons in emails use your primary color.
  • Public volunteer signup page -- Your logo and colors appear on the page where volunteers sign up to receive need notifications.
  • Public homepage -- If you have configured a public page, your branding is applied to the layout, headings, and calls to action.
  • Embed widgets -- If you embed NeedBridge forms or listings on your website, they inherit your brand colors.

Organization Contact Information

In the branding or organization settings, you can also set your organization's public contact details:

  • Email address -- The email where volunteers or community members can reach you with questions.
  • Phone number -- A contact phone number displayed on your public page.
  • Address -- Your organization's physical address, if applicable.

This information appears on your public page and may be included in email footers.

Previewing Branding Changes

After making changes to your logo, colors, or email banner, preview how they will look before saving:

  • Email preview -- Some settings pages include an email preview that shows how a sample notification will appear with your branding.
  • Public page preview -- Visit your organization's public page URL to see how your logo and colors appear to volunteers and visitors.

If something does not look right, adjust your colors or upload a different image and preview again.

Tips

  • Use your actual brand colors. Consistency between NeedBridge emails and your other communications (website, social media, print materials) builds trust and recognition with volunteers.
  • Keep the email banner simple. A clean, branded header is more effective than a cluttered image. Make sure text in the banner is legible on both desktop and mobile screens.
  • Test on mobile. Many volunteers read emails on their phones. After updating branding, send a test email (or check a recent notification) to see how it looks on a mobile device.
  • Update branding when your organization rebrands. If your logo or colors change, update them in NeedBridge so all communications stay consistent.
