Rent/gift cards

Good afternoon. I am currently working with a biological mother who recently lost custody of the children and are in our current care and custody. Key Fam has been in contact with the Foster Parents where these two children currently are placed and have been a tremendous help .Mom has decided to take a proactive step in her journey. She’s addressing some long-standing trauma and health challenges, including her sobriety, to ensure she can be the parent she wants to be. It’s a brave step, and we’re really proud of her for doing the work. She has lost her income and SNAP benefit with the current placement. Housing will hold her home without penalty during her struggle. They cannot accept credits in advance because a zero balance must be held monthly, but they can accept separate money orders for each month and apply it when applicable. Monthly rent is 67.00 a month. The money order can be made out to Centre Homes. I will put her applicable address to each order received to maintain confidentiality. Additionally, until she gets standing on her feet after discharge, a gas card and perhaps grocery card would be helpful as she can not receive her benefit back until the children reunify. A job search is also on the list after her return, but fast track trying to fix it all at once would be overwhelming. I would like to add she is working hard with services and additional meetings will be held on her behalf to gain supports in the community.
