Electric Bill Assistance

💛 Community Support Request – Local Family in Need 💛 Our community has always shown up for one another in times of need, and today I am asking for that same compassion for a local family who could truly use some support. This household includes two children, ages 5 and 14, and one elderly woman. The mother has always worked hard, typically maintaining 40 hours per week, but due to recent layoffs her hours have been reduced to just 24 hours per week. She is currently waiting to hear whether partial unemployment will be approved. Unfortunately, the reduction in income has created a hardship. The family currently has an outstanding electric balance of $882. They have reached out to LIHEAP and the local assistance office, but at this time they are unable to receive help through those programs. As many of us know, winter electric bills can be overwhelming — and keeping the lights and heat on is essential, especially with children and an elderly family member in the home.
